Overview of our Work:
Our program is dedicated to lowering gun violence in the communities where our events are held. With nearly 40,000 firearm-related deaths occurring each year in the United States, immediate action is necessary. Our approach is to transform weapons associated with violence into instruments that support and improve lives, using them to strengthen the community and help prevent unnecessary gun deaths.
Our work is dedicated to lowering gun violence in the communities where our events our held. Our mission is to clean, rebuild, and create gardens in our local communities.
Our Mission:
Our mission is to foster safer Connecticut communities by breaking the cycle of gun violence. By transforming surrendered firearms into tools of life, we provide high-risk youth with economic opportunity and turn vacant lots into thriving community gardens—transforming hearts, minds, and landscapes from 'life-taking' to 'life-making'.
We created a program that both decreases the number of firearms in our communities and transforms them into resources that promote positive community impact.
The first phase of the program involves partnering with police departments, which provide firearms collected through their gun buyback initiatives.
